Want to put hands and feet to faith? Here are some of many service opportunities offered through Covenant.

Room in the Inn

Every year from December through early March, Covenant offers hospitality to 14 homeless neighbors for dinner and the night each Tuesday. This ministry provides food and shelter to our homeless neighbors and provides our congregation with an opportunity to build relationships with our neighbors. Many volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks from monthly coordinator to baking a casserole to spending the night. Please join us. To get involved contact Carla Leaf.

Give the gift of clear vision

The Urban Ministry Center is in constant need of reading glasses for homeless neighbors. Donations of new or used reading glasses can be delivered to the specified box in the Education Wing. (Some dollar and discount stores sell reading glasses)

Muffin Ministry
Take muffins and coffee to Crisis Assistance Ministry one early morning a month. Contact Carla Leaf.

Covenant Crew

A group of volunteers work quarterly to help members with minor home repairs maintenance jobs. 2013 work dates are February 2, May 4, August 3, and December 7. Contact parish nurse Mary Mattiacci if you'd like to volunteer or need assistance.

 Sunday Morning Usher
Be part of a team that ushers at 9:30 or 11:00 worship service on a rotating basis.

Covenant Church is a Stephen Ministry Congregation. Stephen Ministers are trained, listening friends who can bring the caring presence of the church to those experiencing difficult life situations, large or small. If you or someone you know might like to be paired with a Stephen Minister, contact associate pastor for congregational care Joan Watson joan.watson@covenantpresby.org or 704.804.7561).

Presbyterian Samaritan Counseling
This non-profit agency offers services on the Covenant campus. If you or someone you know is interested in receiving counseling through the center, learn more about it here.

Hospitalizations
If you, a member of your family, or a church friend are hospitalized, please contact the church office to let us know! Include the hospital, the room number, and the nature of the hospitalization if possible. If this is an emergency and after hours, call the church office and listen to the mesaage to leave urgent information for the minister on call.

Home Visits
The pastoral staff, the parish nurse, and lay members of our visitation teams call on members of our congregation who are known to be chronically ill or otherwise unable to attend church. Home communion can be arranged, and telephone calls and visits are regularly scheduled for homebound members and those in nursing homes.
