As part of our Stewardship season, we celebrate the abundance of our congregation by serving our community through four days of service projects on and off campus. Please pick a project and sign up to join us!

Sunday School and Worship as usual
Free Chili Lunch on Campus: 12:00 p.m., no RSVP needed
Service Projects: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Supply Drives

Not able to join a project in-person? No problem!
All supplies can be brought to the Welcome Center between now and November 12 and left in the Mission & Outreach bins.
Items can also be addressed to Nikki Zimmermann and shipped to the church (Nikki Zimmermann, 1000 E. Morehead St, Charlotte, NC 28204)

Coat Drive

The Mezzanine
Donate new or like new coats. These coats will be distributed to the residents at the Mezzanine, the affordable housing development with which Covenant has had a long-standing relationship. All coat sizes are welcome--including children's coats.

Food Drive

Loaves and Fishes
 Ship or bring in cans of food for Loaves and Fishes/ Friendship Trays. They are in need of canned meats, canned fruits, canned pastas, canned vegetables, and peanut butter.

Toiletry Drive

RAIN
RAIN empowers persons living with HIV to live healthy lives and be stigma-free. Join us in supporting RAIN by providing individualized hygiene products for their clients. They are in need of individualized deodorants, toothpastes, toothbrushes, lotions, soaps, paper towels, toilet tissue, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, dish washing liquid, any towels/rags, cotton swabs, nail clippers.  Click here to tell use you're donating hygiene items.

Texas Hash

Roof Above
Help the neighbors experiencing homelessness at the Men's Shelter by preparing a Texas Hash casserole. Sign up here to make one such casserole. This is a great activity to do at home with your whole family. We've got the recipe and the freezer space to store it in the Fellowship Hall!

Air Mattress Drive

Supportive Housing Communities
Supportive Housing Communities moves their clients from homelessness to permanent housing. There is usually a wait time for the neighbors to get furniture, so Supportive Housing Communities provides them with air mattresses until their beds arrive. Help these neighbors by providing one such air mattress. Queen sized air mattresses are preferred.  Click here to tell us you're donating an air mattress.

Packing Food at Loaves and Fishes

Make Utensil Sets at Sharon Towers

Volunteer with Loaves and Fishes, packing food boxes for neighbors in need.  Our assigned time is from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.  Loaves and Fishes is located at 648 Griffith Road, Suite B, Charlotte, NC 28217.  (Behind Costco)  Closed toe shoes are required!

On Tuesday, November 21, Covenant will be serving Thanksgiving dinner at both The Rise on Clanton and Moore Place, two of Roof Above's permanent supportive housing sites. To show our care for this event, we individually wrap the cutlery in Thanksgiving-themed napkins. Sign up for this project at Sharon Towers! 

Repainting Columbarium Handrails

Columbarium Handrail Restoration Project from 9:00 am - Noon. Meet at upper Columbarium stairs adjacent to courtyard between Fellowship Hall & Chapel. Tools & equipment provided.

Yet again, the Covenant staff will join to gether to kick off the CIC season with an all-staff build day!

Covenant Young Adults will be painting a mural at McCreesh Place in honor of our partnership with Supportive Housing Communities! The painting will take place beginning on Thursday and ending on Sunday when we'll conclude with a celebration party.

The Carter Work Project has come and gone, but Habitat still needs our help! Sign up to volunteer on a new construction site with Habitat for Humanity--building not just houses, but homes.

RAIN empowers persons living with HIV to live healthy lives and be stigma-free. Join our congregation in supporting this community by throwing an ice cream social at The Havens, a 25-unit affordable housing complex that provides shelter and community to those living with HIV.

Habitat ReStore

For the second year, the ReStore shift is back! Last year, this project was so much fun, the volunteers who did it scheduled another volunteer shift just a few weeks later. Join this group in serving at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Wendover.

Free Store Sorting at Crisis Assistance

The Free Store provides clothing and furniture to people in need. Each day, the Free Store receives loads of donations, and these donations all need to be sorted and organized. Support Crisis Assistance by doing just that--organizing the Store for those who are in need and will shop for necessities.

Install Blinds at Center for Community Transitions

The Women's Center is a residential facility for women who are finishing their prison sentences. While they live at the Women's Center, these women are provided with a supportive community who helps them get ready to reenter society. The Center gets a good bit of wear and tear, and is in need of blind installation in all of the windows.
